Bone Blog & the voice

My bone blog today addresses the voice that arrives with the work

It questions

adjusts

measures what's being created

For a long time i thought the work depended on me answering it

refining it

quieting it

getting it "right" before continuing

But the work does not begin there

rather

it begins when i continue to work anyway

When i allow the voice to remain

but no longer follow it

the work shifts then

It becomes something more distant....

has its own presence and direction

moves forward

not perfectly but honestly

I am learning not to wait for silence

only to keep working

until something true begins to take shape
