My Name Is Abbey Manellis and I paint my inner world.

from my Studio in Vancouver , British Columbia

My  paintings mostly feature feminine  Archetypical  presences  accompanied by markings, birds, animals and floral forms

suggesting protection, instinct, devotion and the

unseen structures that hold us.​

 

Each work emerges through a slow, intuitive process

that values restraint, emotional clarity and honesty of mark.

 

My ​paintings form the foundation of

Abbey Manellis Canvas & Clay Atelier,

an evolving body of work that includes fine art canvases

prints and small offerings. ​

Clay builds in me an understanding of weight and form;

whereas, painting extends that structure into 

atmosphere and mark.
